Sberbank conducted the Introductory Course for the Members of its Supervisory Board

On May 14, 2021, Sberbank held an introductory course as a video conference for the members of its Supervisory Board elected at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 2020 performance.  

The speakers were the Executive Board members and heads of the key Sberbank activity areas. 

The course participants were welcomed by Bella Zlatkis, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, and Oleg Tsvetkov, Managing Director – Head of the Corporate Secretary Service, who spoke about the corporate governance principles at Sberbank, its approaches to interaction with the Supervisory Board, on special annual development programs for the Supervisory Board members held in the form of strategic sessions and subject conferences involving external experts as well.  

The event focused mainly on Strategy 2023 and evolution of ESG activities at Sberbank (ESG transformation approaches, objectives and priorities).

Ekaterina Latypova, Vice President – Director of Strategy and Development Department, spoke about the results of Strategy 2020 and the targets of Strategy 2023, stressing that the main goal of the bank until 2023 is to become a trusted assistant and navigator in a changing world promoting sustainable development for people, business and the country.

Tatyana Zavyalova, Senior Vice President for ESG, shared with the members of the Supervisory Board the information on Sberbank efforts in the area of ESG and sustainable development and spoke about the priorities of the bank for 2021 and until 2023 in this area. 

Alexandra Buriko, Senior Vice President and Head of Finance, also spoke at the event, highlighting the financial performance of Sberbank Group in the first quarter of 2021. 

Oleg Chistyakov, Senior Managing Director – Director of the Internal Audit Department of Sberbank, and Larisa Zalomikhina, Senior Managing Director – Director of the Compliance Department, talked about internal audit and compliance system at Sberbank and the key roles of respective functions. 

The introductory course is a mandatory element of the bank's annual program for the Supervisory Board members.
